  • At the Auditor's Office – Voting In Person  
    • Prior to the elections, you can vote only at the Linn County Auditor's Office, County Administration Building , 930 1 st St. SW. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The ballots are expected to be available around October 1, 2007.

  • Absentee – Voting By Mail – Request Absentee Ballot    
    • To vote by mail, an absentee ballot request must be completed and mailed to the Linn County Auditor's Office.

      How do I complete the absentee ballot request to receive a ballot? Print the Official Absentee Ballot Request Form
      Click here to download and complete. If you want the ballot sent to a different address then where you are registered to vote in Cedar Rapids (i.e. have the ballot sent to a school you are attending), fill in your Cedar Rapids address on the left side of the form and fill in the address where you want the ballot sent on the right side of the form. After you have completed the request form, fold over and address to the Linn County Auditors office, 930 1 St. S. W., Cedar Rapids Iowa , 52406 . Note the request is for the election for the City Council to be held November 6, 2007. If you are filling out the ballot request yourself, you do not need to complete the receipt section. After the ballot request is completed and addressed, place a postage stamp at the upper right hand corner, your return address at the upper left hand corner and mail.

      What to do if you are currently not a registered voter? If you are not currently registered to vote, print the voter registration form Click here to download, complete the form, attach to the ballot request, and mail to the auditor.

      What to do after you receive the ballot from the auditor? Within a few days after you mail the request, the ballot should be sent with a return envelope that has prepaid postage. When you receive the ballot The ballot must be postmarked by November 5, 2007.
