Vernon has shown she’s an effective leader

Monica Vernon would be an excellent member of the City Council. We have worked with Vernon in various capacities for many years.

She has always been involved in and committed to Cedar Rapids.

As a member and chair of the city Planning and Zoning Commission, Vernon demonstrated not only her knowledge of the many issues facing the city; she showed her capacity for effective leadership. She is a consensus builder and excellent team member. She is also not afraid to state her case and make tough decisions. In any situation, Vernon is always a thoughtful listener and respectful of those with whom she may disagree.
