Vernon will listen to all and make good decisions

Over the years, I have volunteered much of my time — Westfield PTO, Linn-Mar Foundation, Fox Trail Park, Linn-Mar Bond Campaign (the one that built Oak Ridge School and Bowman Woods’ new gym), Oak Ridge magazine sales, Linn-Mar Strategic Planning — and the list goes on.
I am donating my time and support to a new endeavor whose outcome will affect all of us. I feel very strongly about supporting Monica Vernon for our District 2 Cedar Rapids City Council member.
Joining Vernon’s campaign was a “no-brainer” for me.
I have known Vernon for almost 20 years. Her leadership skills are exemplary.
I first met Vernon through the Junior League of Cedar Rapids. I personally witnessed her spending tireless hours donating her time to lead the organization in making a difference in our community.
Her leadership helped bring a homeless shelter for women and children to our community. No such facility existed before that time. It was her visioning and planning the helped make a difference in the lives of thousands of women and children.
Because Vernon has a knack for evaluating the situation, taking into account all the components (including listening to the opinions of all those involved) and then making the best decision possible, I feel should would be an excellent representative for us on the council.
