Vernon driven to bring growth, prosperity to city

The residents of District 2 and the rest of Cedar Rapids need a smart, well-informed representative who has the gumption to vote her mind and the intellectual ability to turn research into action.

That candidate is Monica Vernon.

I have known Monica most of my life. I have watched her perform repeatedly, as a kind neighbor, as an active and inspirational parent, as a respected business woman and as a committed community volunteer and leader. I’ve worked closely with her on a variety of volunteer projects. While she has always impressed me with her leadership qualities, she also has demonstrated the ability to be a valuable and contributing board member when she is not in charge. Vernon is driven to instigate growth and prosperity in our community.

She has demonstrated her loyalty to the community and her commitment to progress, Her nine-year history with the Chamber of Commerce, her 10 years of service with the Planning and Zoning Commission, her work in founding the Downtown Visioning Group and her contributions to Fifteen in 5 are actions that speak loudly of her passion: it is Cedar Rapids. We could not be more fortunate.
