Vernon won’t shy away from controversial choices

There are many reasons to vote for Monica Vernon for City Council District 2, but the most compelling should be her expressed desire to move Cedar Rapids forward, especially in the downtown, the Farmstead site and Westdale Mall. Her experiences and interest in innovating development are proven by the fact that she was a founder of the Fifteen in 5 concept and a 10-year board member and past chair of the Cedar Rapids Planning and Zoning Commission.

In all the many years and ways I have known Vernon, she has never shied away from listening, caring, doing her homework and stating her convictions. She will do the same with all the necessary and controversial votes. Her energy, enthusiasm, intellect, business sense, organizational abilities and down-to-earth good sense make her a very worthy candidate for your vote on Tuesday.
