Vernon will use strengths to shape the future

Monica Vernon is a person of vision and leadership and she will bring a refreshingly positive voice to the Cedar Rapids City Council.

Vernon grew up in Cedar Rapids, attended Cedar Rapids schools and raised her family in this community.
 She understands the values and traditions that provide a strong foundation for our community, making it a wonderful and unique place to live. She is also a person with imagination, creativity and vision and will use these talents to help shape a better future for Cedar Rapids.

Vernon is an experienced business owner and knows firsthand the importance of fiscal responsibility. She is a community volunteer and a genuinely nice person. She is approachable and will listen to the concerns of residents.

Vernon is at her best when she is communicating new ideas. Vernon is not afraid to take a stand and to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reasons.
